Waterly, a water technology startup based in Crystal Lake, Illinois, has successfully raised $4 million in a Series A funding round.

The investment was led by Burnt Island Ventures, with additional participation from Emerald. With this fresh capital, the company plans to expand its team and continue its growth efforts.

At the helm is CEO Chris Sosnowski, who has positioned Waterly as a platform designed to help small and mid-sized operators, as well as utilities, run their water and wastewater systems with significantly greater efficiency.

The platform itself is built around several key features.

  • Rounds allows operators to digitise plant operations and streamline reporting.

  • Assets provides a straightforward digital system for vertical asset management.

  • Analytics takes collected data and transforms it into powerful enterprise-level insights through visualisation tools.

  • Samples integrates water sampling with chain of custody requirements and lab data for smoother compliance.

Waterly’s mission is clear: bring modern digital tools to an industry that has historically relied on outdated systems, giving operators the ability to make better decisions and protect one of the world’s most valuable resources.
