EverWind Fuels has secured $22.5 million from Transport Canada's Green Shipping Corridor Fund, marking a pivotal step in establishing Atlantic Canada as a critical center for green hydrogen and ammonia production. This funding was announced by Parliamentary Secretary Mike Kelloway, representing Transport Canada Minister Anita Anand, and was joined by EverWind Fuels CEO Trent Vichie, Port Hawkesbury Mayor Brenda Beaton-Chisholm, and Indigenous equity partners from Membertou, Paqtnkek, and Potlotek First Nations.

The strategic investment will fund crucial infrastructure upgrades at EverWind's Point Tupper Terminal, enabling advanced green fuel handling and storage capabilities. Key improvements include:

- Upgrading marine terminal infrastructure to support green fuel transport

- Installing a cutting-edge green ammonia loading arm

- Developing green ammonia supply pipelines

This $22.5 million contribution through Transport Canada's Clean Ports initiative signals federal solid support for EverWind's leadership in Canada's green energy transition. It will advance Point Tupper's green hydrogen and ammonia project, positioning the Strait of Canso as a critical hub for sustainable energy, boosting Nova Scotia's economy, and serving as a green fuel gateway for the Burin Peninsula project in Newfoundland. The infrastructure enhancements will also promote emissions reductions in marine transport, facilitating the movement of green fuels from Atlantic Canada to global markets.

EverWind's project is grounded in meaningful partnerships with First Nations equity stakeholders—Membertou, Paqtnkek, and Potlotek—ensuring that Mi'kmaw principles of Netukulimk and environmental stewardship are at the forefront of every development stage. This collaboration underscores EverWind's commitment to sustainable practices and respectful integration of Indigenous knowledge in its pursuit of clean energy leadership.

"This announcement reflects the Government of Canada's bold commitment to position Nova Scotia as a green energy shipping hub and a global leader in reducing emissions from the transportation sector. We are proud to stand alongside our First Nations partners and celebrate the progress we are making together—along with local, provincial, and federal governments in driving Atlantic Canada's green hydrogen and ammonia production forward while creating good-paying jobs and community benefits right here in the Strait Area" — Trent Vichie, CEO and Founder of
