Radisson Hotel Group has officially unveiled its first verified net-zero hotel in Manchester, setting a bold new benchmark for sustainable hospitality in the UK. The property meets the 2040 Net Zero Methodology for Hotels two decades ahead of schedule.

Nestled in the heart of Manchester, just steps from the AO Arena and Manchester Victoria train station, this newly refurbished hotel blends eco-conscious design with Scandinavian-inspired elegance across its 252 rooms and suites. Think warm textures, clean lines, and a layout inviting calm and connection.

But this isn’t just a place to sleep—it’s a fully-fledged destination.

Whether you're here for a spa weekend or a corporate summit, the hotel caters seamlessly to leisure and business travellers. Guests can unwind in the spa, dip in the heated indoor pool, sweat it out in the gym, or host events with up to 220 attendees. The restaurant, bar, and outdoor terrace add to the experience, creating an equally vibrant and relaxed atmosphere.

What sets this hotel apart isn’t just style—it’s substance. The entire building is powered by 100% renewable electricity, and no fossil fuels are used anywhere on-site. The kitchen is fully electrified, running on induction technology and heat pumps for hot water, eliminating gas use.

Radisson Hotel Manchester City Centre general manager Jens Brandin said: “To introduce the Radisson brand to this vibrant and buzzing city is a very exciting moment. What’s more, we are immensely proud to achieve Verified Net Zero status, proving our dedication to delivering the pinnacle of sustainable hotel stays.

“Radisson Hotel Manchester City Centre is more than just a place to stay; it’s a destination where guests can relax, rejuvenate, and experience the best that Manchester has to offer with a minimal environmental impact.”

In a unique move toward climate-conscious dining, Radisson has teamed up with Swedish sustainability tech firm Klimato to create low-carbon menus. Every dish is labelled from A to E based on its carbon footprint, helping guests make informed—and environmentally friendly—choices.

Behind the scenes, the hotel follows a rigorous reduce, reuse, recycle policy and tackles its total carbon footprint across energy, operations, and supply chain emissions. Thanks to a partnership with Danish agri-tech company Agreena, any residual emissions are offset through nature-based carbon credits.

Radisson Hotel Group’s chief sustainability and security officer, Inge Huijbrechts, said: “With the opening of our first two Verified Net Zero hotels, Radisson Hotel Group demonstrates its commitment to Net Zero 2050 and showcases truly sustainable hospitality.

“For the first time, we focus on reducing emissions from energy, operations and the supply chain. As we face the evolving challenge of climate change, Radisson Hotel Group is taking an essential step in reshaping the future of hospitality, one Verified Net Zero hotel at a time.”
