Energy Assets Unveils EA Heat Networks to Power the Future of Low-Carbon Communities

We are pleased to announce the launch of EA Heat Networks, a solution designed to reduce both costs and carbon emissions for residential, mixed-use, industrial, and commercial developments, while ensuring compliance with the Government’s Future Homes Standards.

At the heart of our approach is an Indirect Emissions System hybrid energy centre. From this central hub, heat is generated and distributed through a network of insulated pipes that serve every building within a development. This eliminates the need for individual boilers, standalone heat pumps, or separate renewable energy sources in each property. The result is lower emissions, reduced costs, and a more streamlined energy system.

Although heat networks are still an emerging trend in the UK, they have been proven for decades across Europe, providing efficient, reliable, and affordable heating on a large scale. With over two decades of experience in the utilities sector, we bring a wealth of knowledge to this market. Our recent acquisition of a controlling interest in Bero Energy Solutions, a company that has specialised in heat networks since 2020, further strengthens our position. This expertise ensures we can meet the unique requirements of even the most complex projects.

Another advantage of our heat networks is their long lifespan and adaptability. They are designed to be flexible, meaning they can evolve with changes in energy markets or respond to shifts in energy pricing. For developers, this means peace of mind that your build will remain future-proof. For growing sites, scalability ensures that the system can expand to meet additional demand.

We also make the planning and implementation process straightforward. EA Heat Networks delivers a fully managed, end-to-end solution that covers everything from legal agreements and land rights to design, construction, operation, and monitoring. We take ownership of the energy centre, the pipework, and the meters, ensuring full responsibility throughout the system's lifecycle. Developers will have a single point of contact during the project, while residents will benefit from a 24-hour support line for both network infrastructure and energy usage queries.

Choosing EA Heat Networks brings clear advantages. By eliminating the need for individual heating systems, carbon emissions and operating costs are significantly reduced. Our registration with the Heat Trust guarantees service levels that are monitored by the independent Energy Ombudsman, offering additional assurance.

The future-proof design of our networks, coupled with their ability to adapt to evolving technologies and pricing, provides long-term value. Developers also gain a trusted partner who handles the full project lifecycle, from consultancy and design through to operation, billing, and performance monitoring. Clear communication and seamless management ensure that every stage runs smoothly.

For end customers, the benefits are equally strong. They will enjoy sustainable living environments or greener business premises, lower utility bills through shared usage, and a single provider for all infrastructure and supply queries. They also avoid the hassle and costs of maintaining individual heating systems, while still enjoying the familiar comfort of a gas central heating-style setup.

Our commitment to sustainable energy is already being demonstrated on a large scale. EA Heat Networks will be powering one of Scotland’s most ambitious environmentally sustainable residential developments at Bangour Village. This £500 million project will deliver low-carbon heating and hot water to more than 800 homes. A state-of-the-art energy centre and district heat network will ensure that residents benefit from an efficient, future-ready system that sets new standards in sustainable living.
